A LETTER FROM THE PASTOR IN SIMATELELE
Pastor Siapani, from Simatelele Church of Christ recently wrote a report on The Michael Project's work in Simatelele. He writes :-
''Since February 2004, the Michael Project has been so helpful to the vulnerable children and orphans in the Simatelele Ward. It's members being the Simatelele Baptist and the Simatelele Church of Christ who volunteered to accept the task of taking care of the children for nothing on earthly expectations and for something in heavenly plans.
The Michael Project trained these members to do the work effectively. The training helped the volunteers to help the children even better because of the lessons on various topics such as child abuse, parenting, just to mention just a few.
Besides training, it taught these orphans through these volunteers the Word of God on weekly basis. The teaching ends with feeding the children. The teaching and feeding never stopped even last year when everything was upside down. The children at least got something into their stomachs rather than herbs and tubbers.
The project is sending children to high schools. These children are well catered for since they are given food and toiletries on a monthly basis.
At times, the Michael Project gives clothes to both volunteers and children.
When considering the above mentioned activities done by the Michael Project, I commend that it continues with its work here. This is because most of these orphans will not go any where. There are many of these orphans who are indeed need help.
May God bless the Michael Project and bless us as well.
