ALPHA AT CHIKURUBI PRISON

Date: 2010-02-19

The Michael Project outreach team who visit the mothers imprisoned in Chikurubi Female Prison have, since the beginning of the year, been conducting the ALPHA course.  This last week, was the teaching on the Holy Spirit and so special permission had been given to allow the mothers to spend almost the entire day out of the confines of the cells and to come up to the day care centre where they were allowed time for the teaching, prayer, worship, healing and to share a meal together.  Pastor Rephat reports : 'all rules were broken that day as prisoners and members of the team embraced and wept together.  God brought inner healing and we felt that God was replacing hearts of stone with new, fresh hearts. I was surprised to see that even the prison guards were standing with hands lifted in need of prayer.'  We praise God that 8 mothers gave their lives to the Lord that day and that they were filled with the Holy Spirit.  'May he who has begun a good work  ... carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.' Phil 1:6
