NEW DEVELOPMENT AT SHALOM
Two of the children from Shalom, are at the local government primary school and we have realised for awhile that their special needs are not being met. Clayton, due to his illness and partial sight, is very behind in his studies and needs to be able to work at his own pace, with more one on one attention. Following discussions with a couple running a home school within our church, we are now pushing the doors to see if we can start a school at Shalom.
Initially we will work out of one of the rooms in the house, whilst we endeavour to raise the funds to build a school room on the property. We will follow the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) programme which has been used successfully by other ministries (especially homes) in Zimbabwe and equips the children with an education and life skills. We have interviewed a young lady who has worked with this programme before and who will receive further training in the next 3 months to enable her to oversee the school. Obviously there are still a number of things that need to happen and we would appreciate your prayers as we embark on this programme.
